What I do at CardTrail
I run editorial at CardTrail. That means three concrete things:
- · I sign off on every article. Whether the first draft is written by me, by a researcher on the team, or assisted by a tool, the final review is mine. The byline reflects accountability — if a fact is wrong, I own the correction.
- · I maintain the scoring algorithm. Every weight, every dimension, every recalibration of the CardTrail Score is documented in the methodology page. Changes are tracked, with reasons.
- · I read MITC documents so you don't have to. The Most Important Terms and Conditions PDF is where banks bury fee changes, devaluations, and conditional benefits. CardTrail's articles distill these — and we cite which clauses we read.
Areas I cover
- · Indian credit card products — fees, rewards, eligibility, devaluations
- · Reserve Bank of India directives on credit card billing and consumer protection
- · Co-branded card programmes (airline, retail, fintech)
- · Forex markup, dynamic currency conversion, international card use
- · Airport lounge networks (DreamFolks, Priority Pass, LoungeKey)
- · Reward programmes (HDFC, ICICI, Axis, Amex MR, SBI, Kotak)
- · Annual fee waivers, milestone benefits, breakeven mathematics
Accountability
If you spot an error in something I've published, write to me. Errors are corrected publicly with a visible note in the article — see our retraction policy for the protocol.
I do not accept payment from banks or card networks to influence ranking, scoring, or the words in any article. Where commercial relationships exist between CardTrail and a card issuer, they are disclosed in the article and never input into the scoring algorithm.
