About Us

Your cards should work for you

India has over 500 credit cards. Most comparison sites rank them by bank commissions, not by what's best for you. CardTrail exists to change that — every recommendation starts with the cardholder, not the bank.

Our Mission

You deserve to know which card actually saves you the most money — not which one pays the highest commission to a comparison site. Millions of Indians carry cards that cost them more than they earn, simply because nobody told them better.

CardTrail's mission is to be India's most trustworthy credit card advisor — a platform where every recommendation starts with your spending, your goals, and your lifestyle. No bank can buy a better ranking here.

What We Do

Score every card honestly. We maintain a growing database of 183 credit cards across India's major banks, each scored on a transparent 4-dimension model: net value, accessibility, feature depth, and bank trust. The full methodology is published here.
Built around you. Our quiz reweights scoring dimensions based on your spending, your lifestyle, and what you actually care about — a student gets different recommendations than a frequent flyer, because they should.
Educate, don't sell. Our guides cover credit card basics, RBI regulations, reward optimisation, and common traps — written to help you make better decisions, not to push applications.
Track changes relentlessly. Banks quietly devalue benefits, change fees, and edit terms. We monitor these changes and report them — because a card that was great last year may not be great today.

Editorial Standards

Every piece of content on CardTrail follows these non-negotiable principles:

  • 1. Data first. Card details are sourced from official bank product pages, MITC documents, and RBI filings. We do not invent or assume benefits.
  • 2. Score before monetise. The CardTrail Score is calculated before affiliate status is considered. The algorithm has no input for "has affiliate link."
  • 3. Disclose everything. If a card has an affiliate link, we mark it. If a benefit has fine print, we surface it. If we make a mistake, we correct it publicly.
  • 4. No sponsored content. We do not accept payment from banks or card networks to write articles, create guides, or influence rankings.
  • 5. Verify before publish. Every card data change passes through a validation pipeline. If we can't verify a detail, we don't publish it.

Data-Driven Methodology

We don't rank cards by gut feel. Every card in our database is evaluated using the CardTrail Score — a transparent, weighted composite of four dimensions.

The Team

CardTrail is built by a small, independent team based in India. We are credit card researchers, data analysts, and technologists who believe financial information should be free, accurate, and unbiased.

Our editorial team manually verifies every card's details against official sources. Our data pipeline continuously monitors for benefit changes, fee revisions, and regulatory updates across all major Indian banks.

We are not affiliated with any bank, card network, or financial institution. CardTrail is independently funded and operated.
